Excellence for All

Do all of our students have the same opportunities for excellence no matter where they live?  No matter their starting point in our schools?

If so, why so much anxiety over possible rezoning?  Yes, we shouldn't break up families and yes, it shouldn't take too long for a student to get to school.  Beyond that, do parents have deeper concerns?

As a member of the board, I will support studies and policies to ensure that every student, no matter where they happen to live, receives the highest quality of education.  This includes the building, the programs and the teachers.

Parents know their circumstances far more fully than any administrator.  We need to engage with our parents and understand their concerns and address them.

Lexington Richland Five is the #1 school district in SC but we cannot rest on our laurels.  The world is changing and we need to change with it or be left behind.  We should not rest until every student graduates and goes onto meaningful employment and/or success in college.
